Over the Garden Fence: Bucyrus honored again as Tree City USA

Bucyrus City and its Tree Commission were recognized as a Tree City USA in the Northwest Ohio awards ceremony hosted by the city of Wauseon Tree Commission. This is the sixth time our community has been honored with this nationally recognized award. The emcee was Stephanie Miller, Northwest Ohio regional urban forester with the ODNR Division of Forestry, who supports and strengthens urban forestry efforts.

The awards were presented to the Tree City and Tree Campus USA communities by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry, on May 9. The featured speaker — Nate Andre of Andre Farms — shared his company’s experiences with converting municipal yard byproducts into compost.
