Galion, OHIO – Wednesday, July 10 – The Galion-Crestline Chamber helped cut the ribbon today on The Tattered Apron, a new bakery located at 302 N. Seltzer Street in Crestline, Ohio. The bakery is open 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Sunday.

Crestline Mayor Linda Horning-Pitt shared her excitement for the new business, saying, “Congratulations to Tommy and Crystal Payton on the grand opening of The Tattered Apron. Their passion for creating delicious, homemade pastries and their commitment to community support truly embody the spirit of Crestline. We are thrilled to welcome The Tattered Apron to our town and look forward to the positive impact it will have on our community.”

The Galion-Crestline Chamber shared the following information in connection with the event:

“Our Bakery offers Classic Old World Style Pastries with a little Southern sass. Our products are made from our kitchen from scratch, just like grandma used to make,” says Tommy and Crystal Payton, owners of The Tattered Apron.

Committed to community support, The Tattered Apron helps other local businesses and plans to provide an annual scholarship for a high school student interested in culinary arts. “We strive to help other businesses become successful as well, because we’re all part of that hometown, small business, family-oriented market that needs to help each other out.”

The owners chose Crestline for its welcoming community and the need for a local bakery. “We found a building in Crestline that fit our needs, and there weren’t any other physical bakeries open in town, so that’s why we decided to open here in town.”

In addition to pastries, The Tattered Apron will host community events such as coffee demonstrations and sip, snack, and paint nights. “We want The Tattered Apron to be a place for people to enjoy our treats and create lasting memories.”
