The new owner of a former lumberyard on Marion Road is seeking a tax abatement from the city as he prepares to reopen the site as a storage facility.
James Manos, a financial adviser from Dublin, said he hopes have Bucyrus Storage Complex LLC open in mid-March, once permits are in place. The site at 1850 Marion Road has sat empty for almost a decade, since Carter Lumber closed in late 2013.
On Jan. 19, David Zak, executive and economic development director of the Crawford Partnership for Education and Economic Development, presented a proposal for a community reinvestment area for the site to Bucyrus City Council’s economic development committee, which approved sending the plan to the full council for a vote.
