BUCYRUS, OH — The Crawford Partnership, in collaboration with the City of Bucyrus and the Village of Crestline, has officially released a Request for Qualifications and Proposals (RFPQ) for environmental consulting services to support the implementation of its FY2024 U.S. EPA Brownfield Assessment Coalition Grant.

This grant-funded initiative seeks a qualified environmental consulting firm to assist in the assessment and redevelopment planning of brownfield properties across Crawford County, with a focus on the communities of New Washington, Bucyrus, and Crestline. The City of Galion, while within the county, is not included in this initiative as it is managing a separate EPA grant.

The selected firm will partner with the Crawford Brownfield Coalition to carry out environmental site assessments, facilitate community engagement, and support reuse planning and EPA reporting requirements. The scope of work includes up to 39 Phase I and 23 Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), the development of cleanup and revitalization plans, and the creation of a Community Involvement Plan to guide public outreach.

“This RFPQ represents a major step forward in our work to unlock underutilized sites for future investment and community benefit,” said Ashlea Shaw, Brownfield Project Director. “We’re excited to find a partner who shares our commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and redevelopment.”

The RFPQ was issued on May 12, 2025. Interested firms must submit proposals electronically by 5:00 p.m. ET on June 13, 2025, to ashleas@crawfordpartnership.org with the subject line “Brownfield RFPQ Response.” Questions will be accepted through May 30, 2025.

This project is funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and prioritizes equitable participation. Minority- and women-owned firms are strongly encouraged to apply.
